£6 Foundation? | The Ordinary Coverage Foundation
July 28, 2017
The ordinary created two foundations: the serum foundation and coverage foundation which can be found for an affordable price of £5.90 online (plus delivery depending on where you purchase.)
This foundation took over a month to arrive to me due to how the lengthy the waiting list was so a lot of patience is needed if you're planning on buying this foundation.

If you are struggling with picking your shade then I would recommend checking out a shade guide or Wayne Goss' MAC comparable guide if you know your MAC shade as it's relatively on point. I bought the shade 1.1N which is similar to an NC15. With my shade I'd say that the Pro Longwear concealer in NC15 is a better match to 1.1N since the foundation in NC15 is a couple shades darker, but with some quick googling you can probably figure out your shade.
After wearing this for a decent amount of time I'd personally say that the coverage is about medium - which is fine for me as I always tend to go in with a concealer anyway, but if you're looking for a true full coverage foundation then this is probably not for you. I found that the finish looked really nice as soon as I had applied it alongside the rest of my makeup, with it leaving a natural yet matte finish.
Now a big flaw for this foundation is the longevity. On me the foundation has a tendency to slide around throughout the day, making my face appear really cakey, dry and overall pretty terrible. It also creases really badly, sinking into any fine lines after a couple of hours which is very noticeable. It literally made me want to wipe off my makeup and appreciate my bare face more...and my bare face is a 3/10 at best.
Bare in mind that I have combination skin so you may have a different result depending on your skin type but damn did it make me look bad.
Overall I have mixed opinions on this foundation as I really wish it would've held up in the same way it looked in the first hour of wearing it. I've tried mixing it with lighter foundations and haven't had any issues but it's quite a hit and miss for me when wearing it on its own.
Since this foundation is only £5.90 I would recommend trying it out for yourself if you're curious as there are a wide range of shades and many other people seem to highly rate both the serum and coverage foundations. Plus if it happens to work for you then you'd be potentially be saving a lot of money!
I hope you enjoyed this post and be sure to let me know how you feel about The Ordinary foundations!
