For me, 2018 is the year of motivation and confidence. I'm also hoping that this will be the year that my skin finally becomes flawless...
Now, I haven't posted in a while and will be uploading a post explaining this.. but for now, I thought I'd share with you my current and updated skin-care routine!
Over the years I have always been sooo inconsistent with what I use and I found myself constantly purchasing new products to pile onto my face. But you know, It's 2018. New year new me... and this is the year where I no longer use 20 thousand products on my face as honestly it's completely unnecessary. I am now sticking to a minimal routine to give my skin a well desverved break.
Need Help?
A website worth checking out is Reviews.com; they conduct extremely helpful and in-depth reviews on popular products and provide excellent scientific insight into what you should be using.
I would definitely recommend checking out their article on 'The Best Face Moisturizer' if you're struggling on what moisturiser would suit your skin type - or if you're curious as to what your skin type actually is! The detail is fantastic (they have consulted almost 200 dermatologists, cosmetic chemists, and aestheticians to find out exactly what should and shouldn't be in a moisturiser) and it has taught me some excellent tips on what type of moisturiser and general types of products I need to be incorporating for my combination skin during the winter season!
The article is genuinely useful and an interesting read, worth taking a look!
What I now use...
These are my current favourite products that work for me- some I have mentioned before but some are new. I think using minimal products are ideal for the skin and it's best to stick to what you know works for your skin, don't buy into the gimmick. Buy what works.
The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Mask
I purchased this a few months ago and I have quickly become completely dependent on it to fix my life. If you have never tried this before, I beg you to buy it right now and watch your skin transform. I apply this 2-3 times a week and it has made my skin appear a lot more glowy and has completely cleared up any tiny blemishes that I used to have around my forehead. After use, my skin feels nice and tight - especially if you bring it down to your neck. My skin feels brand new!
The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil
This should be a staple in everybody's routine as it just works so well on blemishes. I have mentioned this product before but it has stayed with me for a reason! This is very good for drying up and completely removing any troublesome blemishes and is handy to have on hand. It keeps my skin looking and feeling healthier.
Biore Deep Pore Charcoal Cleanser
I had mentioned this cleanser in my previous routine but I am still very much obsessed with this. I love a cleanser that feels cooling and tingly and it makes my face genuinely feel clean. It takes away the excess oils on my t-zone in the morning and is overall a nice, easy and trustworthy cleanser that I will always continue to re-purchase.
(Once I decided to branch out to a different cleanser and my face broke out comically bad (major mistake) and this cleanser whipped my face back into shape. We can never part ways.)
Biore Charcoal Oil Control Scrub
I use this exfoliator maybe once a week but it's still very well loved. I admire a scrub that is quite gritty and it matches well with the cleanser. I also love to use this before the cleanser as it makes my face feel super cooling and stingy, which is refreshing. The scrub also smells like oranges if that perks your interest.
These are all the products that I use on my skin! My skin feels so much more healthier now that I have a smaller routine and I am using the correct products that match my skin type. Let me know what your favourite products are and be sure to check out the guide mentioned previously as it is such an informative piece of research that needs to have more recognition!
See you guys in the next post!
